Global Cooperation in the World of Glass

ICG is a  not-for-profit GLASS SOCIETY comprising 33 national organizations in glass science and technology.

ICG promotes cooperation between glass experts through its Technical Committees (round robin testing, publication of scientific & technical papers) and by assisting in the organisation of conferences.

Its logo features the Egyptian hieroglyph for "brilliance".

ICG encourages:
More national institutions to join as members and more individuals to serve on Technical Committees
How to be involved?  Contact  (Executive Secretary).

Proposed International Year of Glass 2022

Aware of the role of glass on the wealth and health of society, senior figures from industry, academia and in culture have realised that ‘glass’ deserves international celebration and 2022 is the anniversary of several significant events. From these embryonic thoughts, the Corning Museum of Glass, the International Commission on Glass, the American Ceramic Society and the Glass Art Society have come on board and an initial stream of interest has become a flood - 850 letters of endorsement from 69 countries. Successful discussions have been held with UNESCO and formal approval of the UN will be sought at the next General Assembly (sadly delayed to December by Corona Virus).
